Week 8

It is the start of week eight. I feel less sexy and even more unglamorous (maybe I should get myself a new set of lingerie so I'll feel better, whatdyathink?). I stay in bed all day and have no desire to do anything but lie down. I am eating more but I watch what I eat (gawd, I miss junk and soda!!!). I'm on a medication just to be sure since my OB saw a slight bleeding inside but she also said there's nothing to worry about because Baby Dot's heart is beating at 128bpm and the yolk sac is at a healthy size. I am *forced* to drink momma milk (anything for the baby!!!) twice a day. I am lactose intolerant so I'm also having upset stomach for days now but I'm glad it's not a cause of dehydration. I chose Gerber for Moms among all milk brands because it doesn't taste milk at all (but I still gag when I drink, sigh). I am still allowed to drive but Hubby wants me to refrain from doing so, if I can help it...the same with commuting, Hubby wants me to avoid it.

Our next OB visit is on July 15 and Doc said we can bring the camera so we can record the ultrasound ;) Yay!

Here's information from babycenter:

How your baby's growing:

New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

How your life's changing:

You may notice that your bra is getting more snug. Soon you'll likely need a larger size with better support. Rising levels of hormones cause breast growth and other tissue changes, all in preparation for lactation. Your breasts may continue to grow throughout pregnancy. Don't be surprised if you go up a cup size or two, especially if it's your first baby. Keep this in mind, and allow for room to grow when investing in a new bra.

Feeling fatigued? Hormonal changes — in particular, a dramatic rise in progesterone — may be contributing to your sluggishness. Nausea and vomiting can certainly cost you energy, too. And you may be having trouble getting a good night's sleep at this point, especially if you're uncomfortable or find you need to get up to pee.

Blessed

Cramming

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

While I was reading about some life insurance quotes, brother stomps into our room complaining about the amount of homework assigned to them, specifically in Accounting. See their professor assigned nine exercises just this morning and everything is due tomorrow. He got home at 7 this evening and been busy since then (plus he has an early class tomorrow so he needs these exercises done soon!!!). So even if he doesn't like cramming, he has to and now asks for some help. Some of the term are still alien to him and so I am wringing my brains out too since I need to remember stuff from when I was the one taking the course. LOL! I am a student again while the real student keeps on whining here beside me. Gotta go for now, I won't be able to concentrate on my BIG entry tonight anyway...

I've always thought it's red :)

And someone who can see actually said it is. That was years ago, I was surprised to see it still applies today (or does it ever change through time?).

Your Aura is Red

You have a high level of emotion. This can mean passion, but it can also mean rage.

Usually, you don't take these emotions out on others. You just use them as motivation - and it works!

The purpose of your life: embracing all the wonders of the life, lots of travels, and tons of adventures

Famous reds include: Madonna, Marilyn Monroe, Jennifer Lopez

Careers for you to try: Dancer, Boxer, Surgeon

Old Mcdonald had a farm...

Hehehe, I can't think of a better title, argh! I've been on hiatus mode but I just have to finish some tasks. I have a big announcement to make and I just wanted to take all work aside so I can concentrate on the news better, hehe.

Anyway, the parents brought home some indian mangoes from the farm over the weekend. Yummy stuff! The other week, they brought some sweet squash, and I requested MIL to cook some pinakbet with it. It seems like the farm is doing well. The chickens lay eggs everyday and they're really populating the place. We'll probably expand to cattle rearing (oh, we'll need new cattle supplies for that!) in the near future. Things are looking up and I really hope the family will start earning from the farm soon :)

What's that about, eh?

Watching the news tonight, I saw a story on three newborn baby cases in Manila:

1. A baby was thrown out from a building (a building!!!) to a nearby warehouse roof;
2. A baby found in a drainage system; and

3. A baby thrown out of a moving cab, the baby miraculously made it and is in the hospital & the 15-yr old mother in in police custody.

Sad, sad, sad. While others are struggling to have a child, some people think it is okay to kill their babies. Life isn't fair.

Hungry all the time

Saturday, June 14, 2008

For some reason, I needed to change my eating habits. I am not complaining though, I'm all for healthy eating anyway. But then I find myself feeling hungry all the time, because I can't just grab whatever I see. [Side: And I've been "Coke-less" for about two weeks now (yay!)]. When I'm hungry, I tend to crave food that isn't easily available or food I'm not supposed to eat -- like I've been wanting some fresh garden salad for days now and some fries, argh! I dunno for how long I can keep this up but I'm sure I wouldn't be needing some cheap Phentermine anytime soon because I'm keeping my weight with the current eating habit.

Speaking of food, I find it interesting to watch AFC channel. I satisfy myself with just watching other people cook and eat. Yum, yum. Now I'm hungry again, teehee.

Consider it

Thursday, June 12, 2008

When we travelled last year, we were offered with travel health insurance and I told our agent we will think about it. Guess what, we never took advantage of that offer thinking that we won't need it anyway. But who knows what is bound to happen, right? A perfect example is the tragic accident that happened to a family (I blogged about this sometime ago) when one of the family member's life was taken away. Last I heard, the dad is recuperating from his eighth surgery, hopefully his last. So what I'm saying is that nothing is certain and it's best to be ready. Maybe when we travel again, we will consider getting a insurance big time.

I think I am done

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Blogging for tonight. I wanna spend the rest of my night going over the new DAM issue, probably continue with the scrap layouts I started last night and try to do more pages of our wedding album. I have actually have a lot of things to share but that will have to wait.

By the way, if anyone needs some free mortgage quotes, you can click on that link ;) We're far from needing one as we have a lot on our plate at the moment and investing in a property isn't the priority :)

Some questions

Got this from Yen.

1. What is your favorite day of the week? Monday, because it's usually my "down" days.

9. Do you prefer healthy snacks or junk food? Healthy Snacks but I cave in to junk food sometimes.
10. Are you a morning person or a night owl? A night owl definitely but that needs to change real soon!

Running out of time

It's ten pm and I am not yet half way through what I plan to do tonight. I am supposed to be on a blogging roll but I feel I am running out of things to say. In a while Hubby will ask to have the lights turned off so he can sleep already. Me, I'm not sure if I can still sleep. I guess we need to get a better lighting fixture I can use during the times when he needs to sleep while I need to work. That way, both of us won't be disturbed.

Sunday night out.

The Unggoy couple (after hearing mass at Mt. Carmel), Buddha Family, and Dagang Costa trooped to Trinoma to watch Kung Fu Panda. The Worm Family (let's screen the real family name mwehehehe) could not join as per Mother Bukayo since they already watched it. Spoilt Papaya is somewhere south and Termite's Mom is in the city so she and Baby Snail could not join as well. I dunno what happened to the rest of the gang.

If this looks cryptic then it is Paniki's fault, hehe. You know who you are guys. The question is, months from now, will I be able to remember which is who? LOL!

Turning into a pig

I sure hope that with the kind of lifestyle I am living at the moment, I won't reach the time when I will have to resort to lipovox just to lose weight. I am eating more (healthy food only though) and is hungry all the time. I stopped playing badminton and going to the gym for the meantime (I still have about six PT sessions left and I don't know when I can return) . And I sleep more! The two days that we stayed home, I was asleep most of the time! Hay I am turning into a pig...

Which Sex and the City Vixen Are You?

You Are Most Like Carrie!

You're quirky, flirty, and every guy's perfect first date.

But can the guy in question live up to your romantic ideal?

It's tough for you to find the right match - you're more than a little picky.

Never fear... You've got a great group of friends and a

great closet of clothes, no matter what!

Romantic prediction: You'll fall for someone this year...

Totally different from any guy you've dated.

Bored and Lazy

We didn't have internet since yesterday. We got connected again just this afternoon. No internet and no cable meant we were bored out of our wits! We decided to stay home just the same because we wanted to just laze around (and we're kinda scrimping on moolah hehehe). And now that I am online, ugh, I'm still bored! To amuse myself, I tried looking at online furniture stores and see what fits our pad :) Not that we need to change furniture anytime soon. I'm just picturing in my mind how our future house (the one we plan to build on our own) will look like. :)

Tears

Saturday, June 07, 2008

Maybe I am just too emotional but I've been crying today. I was saddened when I heard of Daboy's passing (shallow, I know). My brother woke me up to tell me the news so I went online and turned the TV on to check. I was crying while watching Startalk and ET. His death was kinda expected as he was diagnosed with a rare cancer two years back. But I was still shocked. I am not a big fan nor a personal acquaintance but news of death really upset me, all the time.

And then there's the PBB Teen Big Night. I was emotional watching the memories. I don't agree on most of Kuya's tactics but he knows how to hit the emo nerve. (I was rooting for Robi but it's Ejay who won.)

Tsk, tsk. Hormones, hormones...

Anniversary coming up!

Friday, June 06, 2008

I can't believe it's June already (the first week is actually about to end!). Our second wedding anniversary is coming up and I'm not sure what to give hubby. Not that I have a lot of money to purchase anything, LOL! Honestly, it's hard to think of anything to give. If only he's into men's jewelry, then it would be easier since pieces of jewelry are also investments. We're both into photography nowadays, so maybe we can just get ourselves camera accessories?!? Hehe. I'm bugging him to bring me somewhere nice for dinner, so we'll see how it goes. Will he even budge? :D

As for our long-overdue wedding album, I'm halfway through but I'm not sure I'll be done to have it printed in time for our anniversary. Maybe I'll try to finish it, anyway, the printing lasts only 7 working days. I think I still have lots of time. No promises though, hihi.

Someone suggested that we do a post-nup photoshoot wearing our wedding ensemble (yes I still fit!) but sadly Hub's Barong needed to be repaired after the wedding, the effect of which is that it is much smaller now. That's a scrapped idea. That would have been a fun photo day out, eh?! Unless I wanna have myself shot alone...which will be weird, ayt? Hehe.

Three weeks to go and we're Two! Yay!

The Workforce

Thursday, June 05, 2008

My little brother is going to the same University that I went to. It's funny to know that some of his professors were my professors then. I looked at the Uni's website and truly, they're still there...only older (with chubby faces and grey hair)! One of my Management professors is now the University Registrar.

And then I checked one of bro's workbooks and realized that one of the workbook's authors was also one of my Accounting Professors! And then I remembered that because of that one Prof, who gave me a few points short in my final grade to be allowed to shift to Accountancy, I wasn't able to shift. See there's a minimum grade to take BSA as a Major, otherwise I would have to take the Course again. I didn't fail the course so I didn't see the point of shifting anymore. Hearing this, Hubby quipped that if I was able to shift then I would be in the workforce at this time...and then laughing his a** off.

I just know that he has a hidden message in what he said but I didn't dare him to tell me, hehe. I am more of a bum and freeloader at the moment. And he feels that I will be happier when I start working again in the "real world". I dunno. I am not actively looking but I've done steps to apply in this one company that I really wanna work for. (On the side, if you are looking for Boston jobs, then go on to the site, might be helpful :))

For now, there's nothing I can do but wait. Changes are imminent. We'll see.

Six Things

Was tagged by Faye, a looong time ago, sorry doing this just now. Have a safe trip, girl! :) Say hi to Joe from Badz and I...

Six unimportant things about me:
  1. I wake up just in time for lunch.
  2. I can't swim.
  3. I love watching commercials.
  4. And cartoons.
  5. I contradict myself a lot of times.
  6. I notice even the littlest of things, it's annoying.

Sluggish

This blog has been obviously neglected. I know I can't blame it on being sluggish, but I am honestly sluggish. Plus I let my brother use Ivy sometimes since his laptop kinda conked out on him...bad timing since school just started. We've been staying at the brothers' apartment because we feel it is more practical (with the gas prices nowadays, hah!). I've stopped going to the gym for the meantime, so my weight loss program is also on hold. But I plan to do some walking so my body won't react too much to the sudden change in physical activity (or inactivity, for that matter).

Ok, enough explaining nonsense, wish I can say more. Gotta "work" my b**t off and do those opps, if you know what I mean :) Need to finish some of it before Hubby comes back from work and ten we're off to the garden.
