Week 8

It is the start of week eight. I feel less sexy and even more unglamorous (maybe I should get myself a new set of lingerie so I'll feel better, whatdyathink?). I stay in bed all day and have no desire to do anything but lie down. I am eating more but I watch what I eat (gawd, I miss junk and soda!!!). I'm on a medication just to be sure since my OB saw a slight bleeding inside but she also said there's nothing to worry about because Baby Dot's heart is beating at 128bpm and the yolk sac is at a healthy size. I am *forced* to drink momma milk (anything for the baby!!!) twice a day. I am lactose intolerant so I'm also having upset stomach for days now but I'm glad it's not a cause of dehydration. I chose Gerber for Moms among all milk brands because it doesn't taste milk at all (but I still gag when I drink, sigh). I am still allowed to drive but Hubby wants me to refrain from doing so, if I can help it...the same with commuting, Hubby wants me to avoid it.

Our next OB visit is on July 15 and Doc said we can bring the camera so we can record the ultrasound ;) Yay!

Here's information from babycenter:

How your baby's growing:

New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

How your life's changing:

You may notice that your bra is getting more snug. Soon you'll likely need a larger size with better support. Rising levels of hormones cause breast growth and other tissue changes, all in preparation for lactation. Your breasts may continue to grow throughout pregnancy. Don't be surprised if you go up a cup size or two, especially if it's your first baby. Keep this in mind, and allow for room to grow when investing in a new bra.

Feeling fatigued? Hormonal changes — in particular, a dramatic rise in progesterone — may be contributing to your sluggishness. Nausea and vomiting can certainly cost you energy, too. And you may be having trouble getting a good night's sleep at this point, especially if you're uncomfortable or find you need to get up to pee.

Blessed

Cramming

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

While I was reading about some life insurance quotes, brother stomps into our room complaining about the amount of homework assigned to them, specifically in Accounting. See their professor assigned nine exercises just this morning and everything is due tomorrow. He got home at 7 this evening and been busy since then (plus he has an early class tomorrow so he needs these exercises done soon!!!). So even if he doesn't like cramming, he has to and now asks for some help. Some of the term are still alien to him and so I am wringing my brains out too since I need to remember stuff from when I was the one taking the course. LOL! I am a student again while the real student keeps on whining here beside me. Gotta go for now, I won't be able to concentrate on my BIG entry tonight anyway...

I've always thought it's red :)

And someone who can see actually said it is. That was years ago, I was surprised to see it still applies today (or does it ever change through time?).

Your Aura is Red

You have a high level of emotion. This can mean passion, but it can also mean rage.

Usually, you don't take these emotions out on others. You just use them as motivation - and it works!

The purpose of your life: embracing all the wonders of the life, lots of travels, and tons of adventures

Famous reds include: Madonna, Marilyn Monroe, Jennifer Lopez

Careers for you to try: Dancer, Boxer, Surgeon

Old Mcdonald had a farm...

Hehehe, I can't think of a better title, argh! I've been on hiatus mode but I just have to finish some tasks. I have a big announcement to make and I just wanted to take all work aside so I can concentrate on the news better, hehe.

Anyway, the parents brought home some indian mangoes from the farm over the weekend. Yummy stuff! The other week, they brought some sweet squash, and I requested MIL to cook some pinakbet with it. It seems like the farm is doing well. The chickens lay eggs everyday and they're really populating the place. We'll probably expand to cattle rearing (oh, we'll need new cattle supplies for that!) in the near future. Things are looking up and I really hope the family will start earning from the farm soon :)

What's that about, eh?

Watching the news tonight, I saw a story on three newborn baby cases in Manila:

1. A baby was thrown out from a building (a building!!!) to a nearby warehouse roof;
2. A baby found in a drainage system; and

3. A baby thrown out of a moving cab, the baby miraculously made it and is in the hospital & the 15-yr old mother in in police custody.

Sad, sad, sad. While others are struggling to have a child, some people think it is okay to kill their babies. Life isn't fair.

Hungry all the time

Saturday, June 14, 2008

For some reason, I needed to change my eating habits. I am not complaining though, I'm all for healthy eating anyway. But then I find myself feeling hungry all the time, because I can't just grab whatever I see. [Side: And I've been "Coke-less" for about two weeks now (yay!)]. When I'm hungry, I tend to crave food that isn't easily available or food I'm not supposed to eat -- like I've been wanting some fresh garden salad for days now and some fries, argh! I dunno for how long I can keep this up but I'm sure I wouldn't be needing some cheap Phentermine anytime soon because I'm keeping my weight with the current eating habit.

Speaking of food, I find it interesting to watch AFC channel. I satisfy myself with just watching other people cook and eat. Yum, yum. Now I'm hungry again, teehee.
