I scrapped! (and a Baby Dot kwento :))

Saturday, October 25, 2008

Oh yeah, oh yeah! I scrapped last night! I made two layouts. They may not be entirely from scratch (because I used templates), but I'm pretty glad that I was able to finish 'em in no time. I hope this is that start of a better relationship with darling mojo, LOL! Click on the images to lead you to their respective posts in my creative blog :)

For the Dot story, I haven't shared here that I've been reading stories and playing songs for the baby. Usually, Dot would just stay still, as if listening to my voice or to the music. For the songs, I'd play kids' songs. Then last week, hoping to get another reaction, I played love songs (hehe only because the the children's songs lull me to sleep, LOL!). But Dot still wouldn't budge.

This afternoon, we were watching Eat Bulaga because we were waiting for the return of Francis M. Guess what!? Dot started moving a lot the minute Ely Buendia started singing and continued until after Francis M finished SuperProxy. And this is the first time I felt Dot move like that, like what other mothers say -- parang may alon sa tiyan. What's that about, eh? I imagine Dot tapping the fingers and stomping the feet just like in a concert. Are we going to raise a rakista?!? :D

Credit, credit, credit!

Our phone line (and broadband connection!) went conkers this morning while Ane and I were surfing the net. Of course we were wondering what went wrong. While discussing, my FIL went up to ask us the same question. We share the phone line with them. He sounded so upset and I was like, why did he need to make a big deal out of the situation when we have nothing to do with the lost connection, eh? Turned out he was talking to a customer service representative of a credit card company when the line went dead and the dialtone didn't return right away.

My FIL was discussing a credit dispute on his bill. He is never late on his payments and it concerns him that the company is charging him for something he does not owe. He demanded that the company do something about it and offer him credit repair. Afterall, he only uses his credit card to improve credit score -- and more often than not, the use of the card is for official purchases that his company reimburses. I am sure my FIL will do his best to clear his name.

How about you? Are you interested to know the ways to improve credit? Then check out repairyourbadcredit.com. :)

Hyper night :)

We arrived home (meaning in Malabon) about an hour ago and I just spent those precious minutes browsing through the Amazing Race Asia 3 forum. What can I say?

Geoff and Tisha, Team Philippines totally rocked this leg!

So yeah, we waited for the episode to finish before we hit the road for home -- as we've been doing since the start of the season LOL, we don't have cable tv here.! We missed a few minutes in the beginning since Ane and I had to fetch Mom in Tomas Morato. Turned out we didn't miss much and we can catch it later on during reruns :)

It was a really smart move for Geoff and Tisha (who by the way is so gorgeous and poised, she need not take orovo to slim down some more :)) to exchange their ferry tickets to Macau for an earlier trip. The five minute difference was such a huge plus on their part. Why didn't the others think of that, anyway?! Hehe. The other teams they were supposed to ride with were kinda confused when they got in the earlier trip. Tsk.

G&T was also nice to leave some money at the cluebox for Ida and Tania in Macau. I guess Filipinos are born altruistic and helpful. And the Pinoys cheering for our team, yay! Can't help but smile on that one!

A controversy sparked during the Yield where Henry called Geoff, fake and scum. Look who's bitter, brother! I bet Henry and Bernie would have yielded G&T had they arrived earlier. Again the ferry ride worked on G&T's side!

During the Detour, I was thinking G&T took the wrong choice but they did well in the dragon dance. It would have taken more time if they chose the Black Jack Challenge. Geoff was so cute when he asked if he could keep the yellow pants on, hihi. And that's a big ouchie he got when he slipped, poor guy.

We were holding on to our seats just before pitstop, the one where they have to arrange the Chinese signs. Had G&T lost their patience and cool, Sam and Vince would have finished before they did. We shouted "Yes!!" when the doors opened!

Geoff and Tisha owned the leg and I sure hope they keep it up :) There were no teasers for next week's episode so I guess I'll just enjoy the reruns and wait until next Thursday! :D

Thank you!!

Thanks to those who left messages in my post on Dot's CAS:

Yen, Amore, Chikai, Mae and Faye :D

Really appreciate it ladies! :D Kakatuwa naman, you're all guessing Dot's gender (except for Mae who thinks she's right na talaga, LOL!).

I'm not telling yet, just the same! :) I'm still thinking whether I should run a contest for that (maybe when they approve my $30 overdue opps, eh?). We'll see :D

Bedroom Makeover

Hubby and I are thinking of fixing our room here in QC in preparation for Baby Dot's arrival in January. Our room has become cluttered (I badly need to organize and throw stuff!) and we need the extra space for the baby's things. Resources are very limited yet we would really love to update our Bedroom Furniture. I would like the feel of a Modern Bedroom identical to the one in the photo :) We have a similar bed in Malabon and it's just heaven to be sleeping in a king-sized bed with lotsa pillows :D

We really want another low-rise king-sized bed and matching furniture and fixtures in our QC room to give it the Contemporary Bedroom look. Now if only money isn't in question and my Mom is not against giving-up the dated and bulky queen-sized bed, then we would have gotten over the makeover already. Hehe.

Shopping? I hear yah!

I'll be honest. I am not a big shopping fan. I only go to the mall when I need to buy something. Otherwise, I stay away. And when I do go to the mall, I make sure I go just after the stores open or before they close down, when the crowd is minimal. Big crowds scare me. LOL!

Online shopping is another thing. While it is true that I fear getting scammed online, the information I can get from the internet also overwhelms me. I recently discovered Shopwiki while doing my blogrounds. I would say it's a wonderful discovery. The site is a one-stop domain where I can search for great buys and good finds. Makes life (rather online shopping!) a bit easier, ayt? I even stumbled upon that nice maternity top in one of my searches. And that's not all! (Hmmm, I sound like an infomercial, LOL!) While waiting for shopping money to come, I can just browse around to read the guides and tips on trends, body types (so shopping becomes even easier!) and/or styles.

I'm grinning from ear to ear. I'm sure the husband will freak out when I get hooked shopping, LOL!

The early bird gets the worm.

This goes true for me today. After preparing breakfast and after Ane (and LBB) left for work, I decided to turn Ivy on and check my emails, instead of going back to sleep. Yes, I am still sleepy and feeling so tired. But knowing now that I was emailed a task perked me up :D When I logged-in, I was even able to take a grab bag task that doubles my payout (of course double the work! LOL!).

So let me just get a glass of cold water and I'm off to "work" :D
