Brus left us today.

Am too tired and too sad to share the rest of the story tonight. So many things happened today. I'll compose myself first. :(

It is a word I commonly hear nowadays. Mainly because we are trying to get pregnant that I've listened to two OB-GYNs explain what progesterone means and what it does. I learned this back in highschool (and college!) and never had a relevant meaning to me, until these days. If I understand it correctly, progesterone is the hormone that makes the uterine lining (endometrium) thick and ready for the implantation of the embryo. And if this hormone's level is low, there is a tendency to miscarry or the uterus will flush the lining out prematurely thereby causing an early period. So a woman needs some pills to help her boost the hormone especially when she is trying to conceive.

Blogging from home.

It's past midnight and am still blogging. Ane is sound asleep and snoring beside me at the moment and am here typing away. I should have started with, rather continue working on, the album layout my brother in-law is paying me to design. See, I haven't gotten my mojo back but since he has given me THE deadline, I should really work on it the soonest (I've finished five pages already, 35 to go mwehehehehe). But since internet has been non-existent for the past week, I find myself getting distracted by all things in the web once I get home.

Sheesh. Guess who needs to get her attention focused?

Restless nights.

Wednesday, August 29, 2007

I read somewhere that if one begins to have restless nights and unsound sleeping patterns, then it is probably time to change the mattress, even the pillows. In a previous friday feast entry, I said I would really love to have our mattress in my brothers' apartment changed into a new one, preferably the ortho type. Because really, nights have started to become really long and when we wake up, sometimes we still feel tired from the previous day's activities. Do not get me wrong, we love staying there for all sorts of reasons but we find ourselves just happy sleeping in our own home where the bedroom furniture is relatively new.

We really hope to have the extra money to buy a new one for our bed there.

Diet, diet, diet!

Tuesday, August 28, 2007

Since being told to lose weight about three weeks ago, I've been very religious in watching what I eat. I even went back to playing badminton (twice a week, if time permits). I am yet to go back to the gym, my PT Ome has been texting me asking me when I am returning. Sadly, I still cannot figure out how I can go again. My gym is in Malate and I have no car to use to go there.

When I started to watch what I eat, I noticed I'd get easily nauseous to the point of wanting to throw up. I never starved myself but my body probably reacted to sudden change in eating habits.

Anyway, yesterday was another playing day. While waiting for our turn, we passed around some junk food (argh!) and I even finished 5 8oz plastic cups of fresh buco. When we got home, I had more rice than I should and felt bad about it. I still felt hungry that I asked Ane if we could get some coffee from Starbucks. We did go out to buy some. While there, successfully stopped myself from getting an order of Banoffee Pie. I ordered a tall hot non-fat latte. Ane got himself a jave chip frap AND a slice of Oreo Cheesecake...which I was not able to resist! I did share with him. And I slept the guilt off.

This morning, I met with my former colleague Cleng for breakfast, and I had another cup of Starbucks coffee and a Chicken Empanada, guilt free...since it was my first meal of the day. Then after our first appointment, Ane and I passed by Galleria. And that picture that comes with this entry (something that I missed trying in SanFo)? I bought that calorie-laden fruit and shared it with Ane...after having rice and tinola for lunch! And what happened after lunch and dessert?!? We took a nap while waiting for our next appointment (which didn't push thru btw). As if it wasn't enough, we later shared a pint of ice cream! A few hours passed and it was dinnertime. Did you think I'd pass?! No! Dinner was rice and sinigang, and 2 slices of ripe mango for dessert, not to mention a glass of Coke light.

Honestly, I need to stop eating.

It's the thought that counts.

Pictures? Pictures! I love pictures! Especially photos of me! Hehe. I do not mind getting a picture of me as anniversary gifts or for any other special occasion. Of course, other things make me happy too, like new gadgets and money (who doesn't?) and jewelry. My hubby once gave me a framed jigsaw puzzle of me...I found that so sweet. Most of the time, I do not know what to give because I focus more on what I think matters (the pricetag?). But having spent so much time with hubs, I realize that clichéic as it may seem, it's the thought that really counts.

Miami Real Estate

In search for Miami real estate? Visit this website. They will help you find a property not just in Miami but the rest of Florida. It is "Real estate your way" as they claim. Homes are made more affordable because a buyer gets back up to 50% of the commissions. Sellers, on the other hand, rave about how fast transactions become when they have their properties listed. I believe that a good real estate deal is a combination of a serious buyer plus an honest seller mixed with an efficienr liaison. Don't you think so, too?

It's just that someone approved my Friendster add request and when I browsed my list, the person isn't there. What was that about, huh? Approve me and then just delete like it never happened? Considering that this person was close to my heart back in the days.

I know I suck at keeping in touch with my friends but I never never never add someone unless that person is someone I'd really want to have contacts with. I am terrible when it comes to calling, texting or emailing my friends but I never forget those who made a difference in my life.

I always say that I have a lot of friends (I've been here, there and everywhere) but very few close ones. My social life is limited yet I make time when scheduled meet-ups happen. Because there is always a sense of security on my part when I do see my friends. And Friendster has been really helpful for me to connect with old friends I don't wanna trash away.

Sigh. I just feel the door was closed right in my face. This person probably didn't mean to do that, but at this point I cannot see the reason. So disappointing.

Bloody! (An update)

Friday, August 24, 2007

So I got the results this morning. All numbers! I need to go back to the doctor so she could explain to me what it all means, hehehe. But looking at the results and the normal ranges, I am within the ranges :) I still need to hear it from the doctor herself, though.

Thank you Mich and Donna for the comments on my original post :)

See, even my right arm is bruised (but not as bad as the left arm). When I returned for the results, I asked the releasing girl if this was all normal. She asked me if I was told to apply hot compress, well, they didn't. She asked me a lot of questions like when I had the extraction done, etc etc. I was blabbing until the woman sitting there waiting for her result called my attention. And showed me a bruise much much bigger than mine (and she had her extraction on Sunday!). I was stupefied and felt ashamed my worries are "miniscule" compared to hers. But whatever! Hay, just let it go, and hope I need not go through something like this again in the very near future.

The fact, however, still remains. The medtech who handled me for the first time probably wasn't trained enough to poke needles. Sheesh.

I went to "work" on Wednesday and found that our phone line is busted which means we do not have Internet too. Thursday came and the phone line still isn't buzzing dialtone. Not being able to surf and bloghop makes me restless. I did a little digiscrap organizing and am not even halfway yet. We've been sleeping over at the brothers' apartment because the big brother is away for a week, and I find myself still on the road at past 10pm. Yes, I am tired and that's precisely the reason I cannot think of a better entry to put steel buildings in. I hope I get to enjoy my weekend.

His laptop is slowing down.

Thursday, August 23, 2007

Lately, my little big brother is complaining that his hand-me-down laptop is taking too much time processing. Now we all know that his machine is almost obsolete but we still offer him pieces of advice on how to make it still work for him (see, we can't afford to buy him a new one yet). He can delete some of the files and uninstall some of the unused programs. Or we can buy him a new memory to add to his existing what I did with mine. It is important that we make sure we get the right ones (ie. Dell laptop = Dell Memory). I was told before when we were looking for additional memory for my laptop that we should be able to get the correct ones or I risk damaging my laptop altogether. Haven't got any problems with mine since then. It pays to know what should be done :)

I had my blood tested today, five tests! Just to make sure I am in the pink of health :) Ane accompanied me to the ambulatory services of a hospital just before lunch today.

My name was called and I was made to sit in the blood extraction room. My hands started to sweat. Now I am usually brave but knowing that a needle will enter my skin makes me wince. The last experience I had with both blood and needle was when I donated blood for DEP's dad years ago. The memory sticks (not that I won't ever go through that again for a friend). The medtech showed me the three vials (two big ones and a small one) where she will put my blood samples. I joked that I am not there to donate blood but for tests alone. She laughed. She tried to look for a vein on my right arm and couldn't feel it. See! Even my veins refused to cooperate! Hihihi.

She tried my left arm and found the vein. As she started to insert the needle, I covered my eyes. Then she wondered why there were bubbles in the syringe. She tried the right arm again and was more successful, though she wasn't able to get that much. It was over. What seemed like hours was over in a few minutes. She asked me to wait while she checked whether the samples are good enough. They weren't. The two big vials yielded different reactions, which means there was an error somewhere.

So I had to do the extraction AGAIN! This time, she asked her superior to do it instead. Aargh! Ane was telling me maybe it was because I was spending late nights again. Ugh! So the superior was looking for the vein when she touched that first insertion (where the bubbly blood came from) and asked me worriedly if it hurts. I told her I don't feel pain but numbness. And then she went on again in extracting from my left arm in another vein, this time using a BIGGER needle :( The samples went directly to the vials and it took a bit shorter than the first one. I was told to keep the cotton for a while and asked me to return on Thursday for the results. Ane and I then went to lunch.

Later, I found out that the area on the left arm where the bubbly blood came from is BRUISED. Hhhmmmm.

The storm has passed.

Monday, August 20, 2007

Typhoon Egay finally left Philippine area of responsibility on Saturday. The last three weeks were stormy (Egay came after Dodong and another one) and found us spending more nights in Quezon City than at home. Imagine us sneaking out of the house at 2am on Saturday coz hubby feared we would get stranded again at home and he won't be able to report for work! It was raining hard with matching thunder and lightning.

Because of the flooded streets, I also had limited time checking on the garden and the pizza parlor. When we did visit last night (after braving the waters), I noticed that our tents are almost worn out, the floors need a mean scrubbing and the outdoor lighting probably needs to be replaced (after those strong winds, hah!).

We are still lucky I'd say, the typhoon(s) left us with minimum damage. There are still a lot of homeless families in evacuation centers. In times like these, having a roof atop our heads is almost always enough.

Describe your laundry routine. Do you have a certain day when you do it all, or do you just wash whatever you need for the next day?
Someone does our laundry every Wednesday. Ironing happens a week after, when she's done washing the new batch.

In your opinion, what age will you be when you’ll consider yourself to truly be old?
I'd say 80 :)

What is one of your goals? Is it short-term, long-term, or both?
To become a mother (really!), it's both short and long-term :)

Name something unbelievable you’ve seen or read lately.
I was bloghopping last night and came across an entry by a fellow W@wie about an article an apparent socialite wrote about how she hates being in a plane with Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

Remember this?

We received our tickets today! They were delivered to Ane's office by Ms. Lorna herself. We only got the balcony seats reasoning that RCBC theater isn't that big and we only need to listen to the music and the dialogues, hehe (actually, we just couldn't part with precious money now that we are being faced with something really big).

We also welcomed the 10% discount. We love discounts! The E's were happy we got P50 off the original Balcony price. The discount scheme, I came across Anton Diaz's blog but I never tried calling Ms. Lorna thinking that it's only for P&G employees. When I called Atlantis, I was referred directly to Ms. Lorna as she is the show buyer for our preferred playdate, Sept 15 2pm. :)

We are (I am!) so excited. I read in the Atlantis website that Rachel Alejandro will play Kate and Lucy, Aiza Seguerra as Gary Coleman, Frenchie Dy as Christmas Eve, and Felix Rivera as Princeton. I can hear the songs in my head!

I think Ms. Lorna still has tickets for the Sept. 15 2pm show, and gives early-bird discounts. Visit this. For other playdates, tickets are available at Ticketworld at National Bookstore branches or call Atlantis. :)

Hehehe watching Marimar at the moment. I really think Marian is perfect for the role (I do not think it will fit Angel if she's the one playing it now, hihihi).

Tonight's episode includes a scene where Sergio tells her that she should start cleaning herself up because she's now a lady. Apparently, she doesn't take a bath other than playing in the sea with Fulgoso. So tonight is also the night she takes a bath for the first time.

Ala lang sasabihin ko lang na amputi ng kilikili niya, nyehehehee. Nainggit na naman ako heheh.

Invitations and Announcements

Part of what I wanna do nowadays (but haven't done so much) is to design invitations, banners, etc. I did Joaquin's birthday invite as well as his Thank you card back in June, everyone liked what I did. Now, Mommy C is requesting that I make a banner for her. Honestly, my mojo is so lost. I haven't done much digiscrapping lately considering that I should already start on our US trip album. I have a wedding album to layout as soon as possible. I also received an email a few days back from our friend who was more than honest to say that he can't finish our wedding album either. So that is something I need to think about, too!

Going into desktop publishing is something I'm contemplating on. I already know whom to ask for suppliers of printers. I would want a good quality for my output right? Someday soon, I'd like to be known as the designer who makes wonderful tarpaulins, shower invites, birth announcements, banners, among others.

But for now, I need to get back on track. I actually need to get a life. Hehe.

Because of two words...

Mwehhehehe, that's confusing since I really choose my words. Go figure what that two words are, hehehe.

The place that made me wanna go corporate again.

Tuesday saw Ane and I in Ortigas Center early in the morning. I had to wake up early so we won't be stuck too much in rush hour traffic. We should have gotten to our first activity at 8am but since I asked for a few more minutes of sleep, we got there just before 9am. Which was fine because the person we were seeing arrived at 9am. Hehe. Our little meeting ended a few minutes after 10am and we were strolling Megamall by 1030. We walked right away towards Chocolate since I planned early on that I will buy this month's Havaianas fix. But guess what? They're closed for renovation when I was there last Friday and they were still open. Sigh, I hate disappointments. We paid some bills and then we were off to Mami C's office right behind the mall. Ane and I were scheduled to collect payments for the Avenue Q tickets.

So the title of this entry really pertains to the place Mami C works in...that is ADB. The minute we walked in the reception lobby, that has AC btw, I felt different. It doesn't matter that they have x-ray machines for bags, just like in the airports, I simply liked it there. Mami C met us there, we were given guest passes with our names printed on them...and then we entered a totally different world. I may be exaggerating but I do love order, and that's what they have there.

We entered the building and passed through another security check (for "pre-boarding" as Mami C says heheheh). Mami told us to wait while she withdraws from the ATM and my eyes grew big when I saw that they actually have their own Citibank and Metrobank inside! They even have payment windows for Globe, Smart and others! Whoah! We then took the stairs and up there, I saw a well, a nice lobby and a Figaro! Their cafeteria looks like a hotel, even with low ceiling, the lighting fixtures are beautiful. They have a full meal worth 100 bucks, because the food is subsidized yet you can have other options if you have more budget. We ate Mongolian BBQ. We had a happy chat during lunch. Mae was there (Oh I suddenly missed our lunch sessions in Makati) but Mitch was kinda sick she failed to show up. After lunch, Mami toured us around a bit, showed us where they play badminton. Going there, we passed by the seminar rooms and when we peeked inside, the rooms may pass for hotel ballrooms. Do they rent it out for weddings?!?! Hehehehe. They even have big staircases perfect for pictorials, haha. They have a zen-like garden just outside the cafeteria and the fountain near the ADB Ave entrance was huge. Later, Mami showed us her workstation and it hit me. I never really had a chance to work in a corporate setting. The corridors and offices overwhelmed me. I actually liked it there. But going corporate is not in line with what I currently want. I wanted to go back to school and study something related to the Arts.

Given the chance, I would want to be employed there. It's a totally different world in there (they have their own gasoline station for the blue plated cars, for Pete's sake!). It's like when you go out of the compound, you're stepping off the street gutter and you suddenly get hit by an incoming vehicle! To sum it all up, the experience of visiting the place is, as Mae put it "nakakaCulture Shock" :)

Ps. Thank you Mami for treating us to lunch! Can't wait to go back!

Someday I will publish this entry #1

There is a time for everything. And I guess this isn't the right time yet to publish the rest of the story...

But know that it is something good and we are excited about it. :)

Beach house

I never imagined living near the sea or any other body of water. But everytime I go to the beach, I feel peaceful within. Watching the horizon at sunset is perfect. The love of the waters is but temporary for me for after a few days of staying on the beach, I realize again and again that I will never be a water person. It has something to do with part of my childhood when I was told I am not allowed to go swimming ever. Anyway, if the case is otherwise and I am blessed with the money (big factor!!!) to buy a beach house, like the ones listed in the Wilmington NC real estate, I'd be more than happy to look at the beautiful properties. :)

About P46,000?!? We need a new queen-sized ortho mattress in the QC apartment (we don't need new ones at home). That should do it plus a new set of beddings and fluffy pillows too :)

Thursday, August 09, 2007

That is, after being stranded at home for about 36hours :)

I do not mind staying home for long hours as long as I am given the option to go out ANYTIME. But that wasn't the case. We could not go out because it rained nonstop since Tuesday evening and the tide was high early yesterday (and today). A wall near the river collapsed which made the entire situation even worse. The flood was almost knee-high this morning, deeper down the street. Welcome to our world. Welcome to Malabon. Hehe.

I am just glad that even if we do not have cable tv at home, I had Ane with me (on his rest days) and the DSL & electricity cooperated. Worse, we only had water and ice inside the refrigerator, and oh rice, a bag of Cheetos, 2 cans of sliced pineapples, and 4 pieces of bite-sized chocolates! We always forget to buy groceries since we got back from the long break. I should be grateful for what we had though...others had nothing to eat. And besides, our Bong was more than willing to brave the flood and buy things for us. I had her buy some Coke Light this morning because not having any made me all the more depressed of our situation. Hehe. Not having any Coke Light to drink was more depressing than seeing boats outside our home. Exagg. Hihi.

Around 5pm, Ane looked outside and the flood have subsided a bit. Thank God it stopped raining. We decided to leave and let Espee, the Sportivo, tackle the water. The water was up to 3/4 of the poor truck's wheels. But we got through. The minute we stepped on Valenzuela, we realized that life beyond Malabon was pretty normal!

We drove thru Mcdonald's on our way to QC and got ourselves some Twister Fries and Float. Comfort Food! :) We got to the apartment and caught the news. Apparently, the City council of Malabon declared the City in a State of Calamity since 60% of the area is still under the waters! If you saw the news this evening (24Oras), the scene with boats was shot along our street! It was that bad. I am just too glad we were able to evacuate or we might be stuck there until tomorrow.

And in case you wanna know, there were no damages to our home. I am just sad that others were not as lucky as we are. Flooded houses are in fact already a way of life out there. Nothing to do but accept their circumstances :(

PS. Another underwater county, Obando, was also heavily flooded. Our coffee shop and pizza parlor's stock and freezer area is currently submerged in water. It's good that our crew was able to transfer what needed to be transferred. I hope everything gets back to normal tomorrow.

JDV made me feel so poor!

Currently watching Reporter's Notebook over at GMA.

Joe de Venecia: "I belong to a middle class family."

His basis? His monthly salary as a Congressman is P35,000. Tsk. And claims that the only advantage of his position is that he doesn't get stuck in heavy traffic. He failed to mention that he owns at least one big property in an upscale village in Makati. Go figure.

Ane and I: So what does that make us? Pobre. Kawawa naman kami.

Golf Apparel for Ladies

Monday, August 06, 2007

Woah, I did finish an entry and when I tried to publish it, Blogger returned an error. Hhhhmmm....

Anyway, there is an ongoing sale of golf apparel ladies over at and I particularly like the plain black Greg Norman Ladies Playdry Skorts (other colors available). I like it because I can also use it for badminton games. It's being black is a plus because it means I can match it with any dry-fit shirt I have in my wardrobe (not that I have a lot). Not thinking about shopping when we have a somewhat depleted bank account makes me guilty. Hehe. Maybe I should stop browsing the net all-together? :)

Funny find!

Sunday, August 05, 2007

Found this in JZ's blog, mwehehehehehe:

"From the Department of Linguistics, Bahay Kubo in gayspeak.

Ang julamantrax donchi ay anek-anek.
Nyongkamas at nutring, nyogarilyas at kipay
Nyitaw, nyotaw, jutani.
Kundol, jutola, jupot jolabastrax
At mega join-join pa, jobanox nyustasa.
Nyubuyax, nyomatis, nyowang at luyax
And around the keme ay fulnes ng linga."

Joaquin moment

Friday, August 03, 2007

This is so funny I just had to share it.

So my sister was getting ready for bed, when Joaquin suddenly grabbed her neckline saying:

Him: I wanna see your dede (b**bies)!
His Mom: (while clasping her top) Why do you wanna see my dede?
Him: I'm not gonna touch it, I just wanna see your dede!
His Mom: I wanna see yours first...
Him: (sheepishly) But I have little dede...

Mwehehehehe. ROTFL!

Snailmails and Handwritten journals.

I was browsing thru the webpage of the family friend who recently died. She posted some of her letters to her daughter, and made me think. When was the last time I actually wrote a heartfelt letter using my own cursive strokes? I cannot remember. I cannot even remember the time when people would check their mail boxes, wondering whether the mailman already dropped by? (I still see the same man who delivered our letters when we were young..until now he walks everyday but mainly to deliver bills, perhaps?).

With the digital age in our midst, my last handwritten journal was probably composed eons ago! I wanna go back to writing. My hand starts to shake now everytime I write stuff (receipts, reminders, etc. in haste) and my writing isn't the same as the one others admired for its clean lines (print). I guess I'll have to practice again.

OMG!!!!!! (edited 09 aug)

The OST alone made me laugh so hard...this I gotta see! Since I can't afford yet catching it in Broadway (meron pa ba dun? :))

Badadayyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!! Stitchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
***The musical will actually be shown at RCBC Theater in Makati from September 7 - 23 , all Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. As of today, August 9, Sept15 8pm run is already sold out.

Star sighting to the next level :)

Wednesday, August 01, 2007

I've been frequenting for a time now, because their entertainment news (local) are pretty updated. Sometime I need not buy my usual entertainment magazine fix, I just need to go over the site. Lately, I've been visiting theinsideronline for Hollywood news, heheh. Quite updated just the same. Like, that is where I saw Paris Hilton selling her property in Hollywood Hills (only because the place has been televised many times over when she was put on house arrest for..a day!) for $4.25M. Some real estate brokers would probably be fighting to close the deal. For one, the house's value alone is probably more than that...only because the Heiress lived there. Hehe.

On other news, Nicole Richie confirmed she is 4mos pregnant & will serve jail for 4 days (what is happening to these girls?!? All screwed up!) and Eva Longoria is sporting a new 'do and Christina Aguilera apologizes for cancelling her two Aussie concerts. And Lindsay? A new lawsuit filed in the Small claims. Huh.

Hmmm...I wonder if this (writing things irrelevant really, that is) what happens when one is bummed at home. ;)

No wonder I am getting bigger...

Yesterday, all I did was eat (well, on top of the computer work I had to do, of course). To prove:

-- I had some Cheeseburger, Regular Fries and a Coke Light Float from Mcdo for lunch (no breakfast!).
-- After a couple of hours, I ordered one Asado Siopao and gulped about two glasses of Coke Light.
-- A few mintes after, Mom came and while chatting, my Bro. R was munching on some BBQ fries and I grabbed some too.
-- Then the two of them ordered a Pepperoni Pizza, I wasn't able to stop myself and had a slice too...and more Coke light!
-- Then I remembered I bought some Avocado the day before so I had Zoie prepare some for me...ok, two pieces, medium sized and instructed Z to put some evap milk and sugar and ice.
-- Just before Dinner time, I saw my Dad enjoying some oysters, I just had to help myself to some...hhhhmmmmm about 10-15 pieces (could be more!) of juicy, perfectly cooked oysters, not the baked ones. Vinegar with some sili and onions, was heaven.
-- And I still had the space to eat some real dinner - Rice and Sarsiadong Gigi, yum!

Oh my. I need to stop myself. This afternoon, I went bloghopping and saw Shuttleswoosh posting a picture of a very mouth-watering blueberry cheesecake! And right now, as I type this, I wanna eat some burgers (again!) preferably from Wendy's. Nuninuninuninunini....
