To Mamita and MEG,

Thank you for letting me be "me" tonight :) Although my dear husband is always more than willing to take "it" all in, I am glad that I was given the chance to "re-embrace" who I am and what I am made of, just by being with you girls.

Really appreciate it. Hugs! It's always fun to laugh with you.

Hot Summer

Friday, March 28, 2008

Sigh. It is so humid. I heard in the news tonight that the temperature will even reach 38 degrees in the next few weeks. Argh. I am a person who has very high tolerance for heat but I honestly have a hard time feeling A-ok these days. Gone are the days when I would turn on the shower heater (even at noon!). Now I have to take a shower at least twice. The other day, Hubby suggested we turn on the a/c (we don't use it often) but I remembered we haven't had it cleaned yet. We probably need to install air cleaners so it will work better. It's good though that even in this weather, Hubby and I haven't had rhinitis attacks (that usually turns into full blown coughs and colds). And yeah, the Department of Health actually warned people that Asthma, High BP, and Heat Stroke cases just might become rampant. So be careful, you all.

Anyway, the other day, Hubby and I went to the wake of the brother of Hub's HS barkada. We didn't know the full story until we got there. Much to our surprise, the one who died was just 22 years old! He was playing basketball and then took a break, went to a sari-sari store and just collapsed. I'm not sure if they had the body autopsy-ed but we were told the young man had history of asthma. Must be the heat (and his somewhat unhealthy lifestyle). So again, be careful folks!

They come in handy...

Insurance, I mean, at least in our case. My brother's life insurance has been paid for. And his policy includes payment of his college education. We sigh in relief knowing that about sixty-five percent of his University fees will be shouldered by the company with which he is insured. Isn't that a big chunk off my parents' pockets? :) He also has the option to claim this fund in lump sum, so he will know how to budget his own money (and be assured that he truly gets his money in case the insurance company gets bankrupt). But we are still debating about it, hehe.

Seems like 'everyone' is pregnant.

My wedding coordinator. My fellow July 1 bride. One of the crewmembers. My bestfriend's Sister. Angeline's Mom. Our househelp. Angelina Jolie. Jennylyn Mercado. One of the E's. One of the Bebots. Wife of Ane's HS Barkada. R's friend in Temecula. Our QC neighbor. And then tonight I was told (not yet confirmed) that my friend in UK and her Sister in-law are also expecting.

It is either I am too observant or so in the know or I am too longing to have my own.

In HIS perfect time.

High School Life ohoh High School :)

Got this from Yen :) Not sure though if I already did this hehe (I think I already did, hmmmm).

THINK BACK TO 4th year high school… Let’s see how much you remember and how much you regret..

What section were you? H

Who were your seatmates? It depends what class we were in eh.

Still remember your English teacher? Yup, Ms. Angie P, she was our adviser.

What was your first class? Homeroom on Tuesdays, I forgot the rest.

Made friends to the lower years? Yeah, because of the clubs.

How was your class schedule? Manageable.

Made any enemies? None that I know of hehe.

Who was your favorite teacher? Didn't play favorites eh.

What sport did you play? I wasn't an athletic girl.

Were you a party animal? Nope.

Were you well known in your school? No, I was a transferee and kept mostly to myself.

SKIP CLASSES? Never did.

Did you get suspended/expelled? No.

Can you sing the alma mater? Yes, by heart until now :)

What was your favorite subject? Physics and English.

Did you go to the dances? Yup.

Where did you go most often during breaks? Canteen.

What did you do on the last day of school? Final exams! huh.

Hmmmmmm....

Remember that blog I was talking about in this post? Well it's gotten huge and people are really talking about it. It's all around the blogosphere and the net, I tell yah. Even some broadsheets have given it attention. And yes, even ANC and some lawyers are into it...discussing how the blog author and all other bloggers can be sued for libel. To quote:

"Here’s what could get bloggers into trouble if they’re covering the issue.

  • Publicly mentioning names of people being exposed in the blog.
  • Posting pictures of the people being named by Brian Gorrell in his blog.
  • Publishing the URL of the blog or linking to the blog.
  • Quoting a libelous sentence on the blog or re-publishing/summarizing allegations thereof."
Am not guilty of anything listed above. I just read and indulge in the stories, true or not, I don't even comment. But then, there should be free speech and we should really be responsible in what we share and write. It's funny because with how this issue has become so big, how can the Philippine law enforcement be able to track all those who have supposedly committed libel, many are even anonymous? If there's even a case, I doubt it will end in a hundred years. So good luck.

Yen's QOTW 12 (3)

I missed last week's questions so I'm making it up this week :)

1. Have you ever had a summer romance? Care to share? Yeah, but it ended pretty bad. It was with a guy 4years older, when I was 20. Can't even say it was exactly 'romance' because I found out he had commitment issues and actually had a steady gf. Last I saw him about 5 years ago, he was still unattached and unwilling to marry. He sucks, ayt? :)

2. Do you believe in love at first sight? I used to but not anymore. Ask my husband, hehehe.

3. ‘You don’t marry someone you can live with, you marry the person who you cannot live without.’ What do you think of this quote? Very true! I can't imagine myself sleeping alone anymore!

4. Where does true beauty lie? On the inside or on the outside? Sounds cliche, but I do believe beauty comes from within.

5. Did you ever had a crush on a classmate or teacher? Who was it? A classmate in GS who turned out to be a cousin and a teacher in HS (complete with hyperventilating everytime I see him! OA!) who bragged about my obsession long after a I graduated from that school, nyahahhaa!

6. Summer wear….shorts or capris? Shorts.

7. Would you ride a roller coaster or sky dive? Roller coaster, fast and done in 3mins :)

8. Last stupid thing you have done? Lost a document needed for tax purposes.

9. Any summer plans? Trips, vacations and etc. Where? Our Baguio trip is cancelled because the convention was transferred to Manila (sigh). No other plans yet.

10. In one word, define yourself! Procrastinator!

Join and read the rest here :)

Change of Focus

Remember that wedding we attended on my birthday? Well, I just wanna share a few bits about it. I would say K did a good job in preparing for her wedding. The venue was decorated prettily and the colors were just lively. Too bad it rained a little but that did not ruin the entire wedding reception (although, the principal sponsors were transferred inside the ballroom so they missed the whole program).

Like me, K probably scouted for Wedding Ideas in magazines, as well as the net. I actually came across Wedding Channel during that time and got a few tips here and there, a very helpful site, I tell you. It's been more than two years since I prepared for our wedding (I started 9 months before our day!). I do miss those times yet I feel I have already outgrown the giddiness.

Nowadays, I read more on relationships and family and TTC articles. I guess my focus in life has changed and I am getting mature each day (I hope). Sigh. Sign of age-ing! I was texting Clarice this morning and told her that I have become a bit more patient and I'm taking each day one at a time. It's actually nice to hear me convince ME. Hehe.

Enough drama, off to bed now! :)

The 'I' tag

Monday, March 24, 2008

From MJ, thank you girl! Answers came from my heart :)

I AM my mother's daughter.
I WANT to conceive real soon.
I HAVE a lot of friends but very few close ones.
I WISH I can go back to school soon to study photography.
I HATE (such a strong word) being taken for granted.
I FEAR climbing open staircases.
I REGRET not being able to set my goals properly.
I LOVE my Ane!
I ALWAYS enjoy reading.
I DANCE ballroom.
I SING even if sometimes I can't hit the right key :)
I CRY when I am angry.
I NEED a better boost of confidence.

She's sick and it's no joke.

Found out tonight from the news that our Former President Corazon Aquino (First lady President in history) is suffering from the Big C of the Colon. That's sad. She's been actively speaking in front of crowds that I never realized that she has indeed lost so much weight already. They have not announced yet what stage she is in but her family is still hoping for better things. The family issued a statement this afternoon saying that they decided to tell the Filipinos about her condition so more people will pray for her recovery. Let us all join hands and ask the heavens to guide her and her family in this ordeal.

Pesky agents

Yesterday, a Sunday, my mobile started ringing with the call coming from a landline number. I know that number very well and it is from one of the Credit Card companies that I am subscribed to. Of course I didn't answer because I read somewhere that these companies are not supposed to contact clients beyond office hours, it's a basic right. And the many times that I have pointed this out to the telemarketers, it probably did not sink into their heads (even if I asked these people to note that I never, as in, I never want anyone calling me because I am fully aware of my dues and responsibilities and I am up to date with their promos and what-not's). I am also aware that these plastics do not help with the budget, but then again these plastics are necessary for me. I will not elaborate on that -- let's just put it this way, I use my cards not for my own and I'm also not the one paying for the dues. Anyway, I plan to cancel one or two of my cards in the near future. And before I do that, maybe I can visit that site where I can compare and finally decide which ones to keep :)

While taking his shower, Ane suddenly decides to clean the bathtub (unused, if I may add hehehe) and comments:

Ane: Ay medyo madumi...
Me: Eh kasi hindi ka na naglilinis ng banyo. Kelangan pa natin magbayad para maglinis...
Ane: Eh bakit ikaw, dati naglalaba, ngayon nagbabayad na lang din?!?!
Me: O_O (speechless)

End of discussion LOL!

Sharing the Banner

Saturday, March 22, 2008

Here's the Banner that I made for my brother. He just started a small-time online store and requested me to do a banner for multiply :)

It's supposed to be an animated gif (that silhouette changes to two more images) and it works in multiply. I just don't know why it's not "moving". The extraction took longer to do than making the actual banner itself. It's a simple one and I'm happy I rediscovered vectors (oh not that I've played with it for long LOL!). And the bossing liked it :)

Still online...but not for long...

Thursday, March 20, 2008

Just dropping by. I need to do a little research because my brother assigned me a task (designing) last night. Knowing him (and he knows my will-do-it-later-attitude), he'd probably ask for updates a bit later today. We're not sure yet if we will push thru with the Visita Iglesia later tonight, so I'm dead if I'm not ready by the time he ask me. LOL! And I also need to look for some promotional products for the garden. Heaven knows we need a sales boost!

And if you look at my sidebar, I joined the wagon and started Twittering today! :) So who cares to know how exactly I waste my time, I dunno. LOL! I've put it there mainly to remind me of the day's happenings. That's an entry prompt ayt? :) And I also realized that it's fun to see the twitts from others :) I can be a snoop, yah know, LOL! I won't be blogging probably until Sunday, so I guess I'll just update my twitt.

So before I stay away for a while, I will share this video I saw from Joy's blog. I hope the video touches you the way it touched me. I've been less contemplative and less prayerful that I forget there is my God, waiting for me to talk to Him...and that my God is an understanding God. I included the description of the video below as posted in youtube.

(A FrankLozano.com Production) Little did I know when I was given the audio to this phone call that it would become SO HUGE. When I produced this video, I knew it was special to ME, but never would I have guessed when typing the text and editing the music that it would literally touch MILLIONS. I am proud to have put this video together for the world to see and hear. We have had a lot of requests to replay the phone call that Pastor Mike shared during our church service on Sunday, Nov. 11th, 2007.

Here you'll find the video clip that I created just for you. After our church service I placed the video on YouTube so that you can watch it and share with family and friends.

Logan is a 13 year-old boy who lives on a ranch in a very small town in Nebraska. Logan listens to Christian Radio station 89.3FM KSBJ which broadcasts from Houston, TX. Logan called the radio station distraught because he had to take down a calf . His words have wisdom beyond his years.

Since airing the audio of the phone call and now the making of the video clip, it has taken on a life of its own. People are forwarding it all over the world. We encourage you to share the love of Christ with anyone you can.

(**Sky Angel is a family safe broadcasting service that is offered on satellite. KSBJ is a local Houston Christian music radio station. Video clip produced with love by me, www.FrankLozano.com Hear the entire message at www.ValenciaHills.com)

Have you seen this video?

I am talking about the new web video that is been going around via email, and the one that can make Alyssa Alano make a run for her money. LOL! It's the girl auditioning for Bulgarian Idol and proudly said that she would be singing the song 'Ken Lee' by Mariah Carey. Really funny stuff, someone claimed being awaken from her boring work environment. Thanks to the captioning, the video is even more funny! The link is in my email. Maybe I'll just post it here later.

It's 1am and I better get ready for bed. We are watching the Pacquiao fight later at 8am and then in the afternoon is li'l brother's graduation (who, by the way, is graduating with Third Honors :)). Double yay! It's gonna be a long day.

Model for a day :)

Shot by Ane at Kat's wedding :) Wow, feeling mowdel! :) LOL! I am done blogging for tonight. I guess it's time to fix Kat's wedding pictures. The photogs of Nice Print were friendly enough to allow us to shoot with them. We even got free tips! :)

He wants us there...

Li'l brother was chatting with BIL and they had a funny exchange over at YM about darling J. BIL said they had a conversation as:

Well J asked first why his dad is busy cleaning and fixing the house. J was told they will have visitors...

J: daddy why are our visitors still not here?
HD (his dad): they will arrive later in the evening..
J: who are coming daddy?
HD: lolo and lola (BIL's parents)..
J: why are they coming here?
HD: lola will celebrate her birthday here with us
J: are tito G and ninang coming?
HD: no...they are not coming
J: why not?
HD: ...coz they dont have plans to come here, yet...
J: i want them to come here

After a while...

J: but i want tito G and ninang to come here
HD: if tito G and ninang are here..can mommy and daddy go somewhere?
J: no..i want to go with you.
HD: but you said you want tito G and ninang to come here...
J: they will go with us!
HD: but they won't enjoy staying here if you wont stay with them...
J: (with a sad face) ok..i will stay with them...

Awwww. that's sweet :) But this conversation happened a few days ago...so the mood probably changed already. I was talking to him on the phone this morning and he simply got tired talking to me LOL! Oh well, I guess we won't be needing new Johnston and Murphy luggage, would we?

Why I am not a Call Center Agent...

1. My patience is only as thick as a strand of a hair (of course I am exaggerating LOL!).
2. I can fully converse in English but I wouldn't feel comfortable speaking with a fake accent.
3. My attention span is too short I can't just sit for at least 8 hours.
4. I can't be bound by spiels.
5. I easily panic and I don't wanna end up like this agent. Hehe. It's a long audio file but it's kinda funny :) Thanks, bro for sending me the link. Hehe.

Forgive me if I sound ignorant in this post, huh ;)

Actively inactive

Sus, what I am trying to say is that I've been physically inactive for about two weeks now. Not to worry though because I am keeping my weight. I doubt that even if we have exercise equipment at home, I'd be too lazy to actually work-out. The problem with me getting my period is that I'm having a hard time getting back on track. I am going back tomorrow to the gym and I'm hoping I can keep up with my PT session.

Yen's QOTW 10 (2)

Better late than never heheh...Thanks Yen! Nice set!

1. What color are your eyes? Brown, light enough to be noticed. Some people think I am using a pair of brown-colored contact lenses but I'm wearing clear ones! :)
2. Anything pierced? One on each ear. That's as far as I go or the Dad will go berserk!
3. What was the last thing you ate? Wheat bread with Strawberry jam.
4. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Why? Red. Just because heheh
5. What is the best advice ever given to you? A good education is the only thing that cannot be taken away from me and I should be thankful for that. I really took this advice by heart, doing my best to be good in school.
6. What sport do you hate the most? Anything that has to do with water simply because I'm not allowed to do ANY water-related activities.
7. Have you ever been broken hearted? Yup, I healed and moved on after five years.
8. Do you wish on stars? Yes!
9. Are you a daredevil? Not sure, I chicken out sometimes.
10. Do you like to walk in the rain? Yeah, that's funnnn!

Find the rest of the entries here :) 'Til next week!

Getting my groove back...

I honestly have a hard time going back to my routine (of not doing anything but blog and sleep and stay online, if I may add...mwehehehhe) when I'm away the net. Yeah, that's my way of saying I am indeed pathetic.

Anyway, I am done bathing Kei and done doing some groceries at Unimart so now I can freely blog while watching the local version of Wheel of Fortune (not a big fan though). I also plan to look at the pictures I took at Kat's wedding. And maybe do some post processing ;)

On other news (nux!), my brother is suggesting that we (I suppose he wants me in it? hehe) do some buy and sell business. And then probably we can do it online too. Of course we will start small, as all businesses too. We can set up small business phone system, that will surely make it easier for us. Yay, exciting! :)

Okay, I'm off to do my thang. Got a couple more assignments I should be doing. So I'll probably be flooding today.

Thank you!!!! (and THE Announcement...)

Wednesday, March 12, 2008

I wasn't able to go online yesterday, and I am still alive. Hindi ko pala ikamamatay ang pagiging offline! LOL!

I am posting this entry to thank everyone who remembered to greet me. THANK YOU!!

I got three overseas calls. Lotsa text messages. Received some mobile calls. Upon going online today, I realized that a lot of people also left messages in my chatbox and email. I am certainly surprised to see greetings in my Friendster (as comments and PMs) even from unexpected peeps. Special mention to CRT who exhausted all her means to greet me, LOL!

My heart is overjoyed. I received no gifts but knowing that people (who matter!) thought of me, even for a minute makes me happy.

As I laid myself to sleep on Monday night, I was silently crying while Ane was hugging me. Couldn't even explain why or how I felt. Not even sure why I am saying this now, hehe.

And now for THE Announcement. Drum roll, please!

I Excelsized the names and assigned entry numbers. And then I used a randomizer to pick the winner :) In case you're wondering, entry #19 is Mae. Congratulations, 'Te Jen!

Must hit the sack early...

Monday, March 10, 2008

because I need to be up early tomorrow. I should be all set by 730am because I am going to renew my driver's license and I don't wanna be late. I want to finish it early so I'll have plenty of time to prepare for K's wedding (well, for the hotel actually). I've packed a few things already, and my dress is ready.

The number coding is suspended tomorrow (due to the transport strike). Thankfully, we can drive by Makati (if EDSA becomes too unbearable) and not worry about being yielded.

A few minutes and it's my birthday!!! :) I'm not sure if I can still go online tomorrow...so

Ciao for now :)

p.s. my little party is still ongoing, and it's closing in about 24hours. just a reminder :)

Best time to buy books.

A few weeks ago, my friend MG shared how much she spent for 4 (or 5?) books at NBS. She paid less than half for everything. There's an ongoing sale at NBS and even if I have Barnes and Noble coupons, I wouldn't be needing those anymore. Not that the coupons may be used here, hehe. Anyway, that's how cheap the books are. My friends know I love books!

Hubby and I were at NBS Glorietta on Friday and I was itching to buy me books. I know I still have unread copies at home but for me, it is a natural high just being around books, you know? Hubby won't budge, firm on our current working budget, LOL! So yeah, we left the store with nothing but gift wrappers (for tomorrow's wedding) and a few mags.

Successful

...in making me cry (hehe as if I am not a cry baby to begin with).

The fifth to the last episode of Marimar just ended. Yup it's the last week of the said telenovela. I admit I got lost when they started showing dragging stories. There was a time that I simply cannot miss an episode but towards the end, it's already okay to go out at night. So I can say that it's ending is giving me a sigh of relief.

I was crying in the scene with Corazon and Cruzita talking to the Marimar in coma. And then suddenly, Marimar had an out-of-body experience (just like what happened to Sergio before). Too cliche that I had to shake my head in disappointment.

I saw in the news earlier the gown Marimar is wearing for their wedding scene, probably the Finale -- with a fully beaded skirt (just like mine was!). Whoah! I wish I am getting married again. LOL! Four days, and it's gonna be over. Coffee Prince will have my full attention now, hehe.

Manor

Speaking of Baguio, one of the things that I am excited about is the accommodations. I really hope Mom will still be able to book us at the Manor (which as I observed is similar to some of the real properties found in Branson Missouri, at least the facade). It is my favorite hotel in CJH. Hubby and I spent our 2nd Honeymoon there and it would be nicer to spend time there with my family.

Growing up.

Snagged this from Alpha.

1. What did you want to be when you grow up?
A Doctor (Pedia).

2. Did you follow through? If not, what happened?
I realized I can't stand too much blood and seeing people in pain. Also realized later on that I am more artistic than scientific :)

3. Is your life turning out the way you thought it would when you were a kid? If not, is it better or worse?
No. I'm no Doctor and I haven't given life. When I was a kid, I always thought I'd be a Mother by age 25. Growing-up I learned that plans and goals are not always achieved but everything happens for a reason. With that in mind, I'd say I am better off than what I thought I'd be.

4. Paradoxes aside, if you could time-travel back to when you were 10 years old, what would you tell your 10-year-old self?
Observe and Listen. Sometimes the best lessons are not directly taught.

5. Do you think the child you were, would like the adult you’ve become?
Scary to think not. I hope she's at least proud.

I thought I'm gonna dress up :(

There will be an event in Baguio on April 4-6 and it kinda excites me. Why? Because I plan to wear one of my gowns/dresses (for the Ball). All my dresses are my pre-wedding size, isn't that something I should be looking forward to -- fitting in them?! :) Hubby also gets to wear his coat (worn only once...I was even planning to get him new cufflinks). But my bubble burst when Mom called on Friday and informed me that the theme's not gonna be all formal but Psychedelic-Hippie Era. Sheesh. And then Hubby told me last night he might not be able to join us because of work. Double sheesh.

Oh well, maybe I can just put that behind me. The trip, anyway, is also to celebrate my li'l Brother's birthday. We expect to have fun especially that we will stay most of the time in CJH area ;)

Ah-hmm...what's that again?!?!

Mom and I were discussing that show on Saturday night. It was Bb. Pilipinas '08 and I watched it with Ane over at a local channel. My favorite part of any beauty pageant, hands down, is the question-answer portion. I missed 3 of the interviews, including the one with #7 who ended up Ms. Universe, my personal favorite.

I was reading blogs this afternoon and found this transcription of the interview with #15 (we missed this too), who amazingly won Ms. World (bless our country!)...Thanks Faye for posting:

Paolo Bediones greeted and asked her : “Do you feel any pressure right now?” and she proudly replied: “No, I don’t feel any pressure right now!”

When one of the judges asked her " The question is, what role did your family play to you as candidate to Binibining Pilipinas?"

She replied: … my family’s role for me is so important because there was the…ahm Hahaha… they are Oh I’m so sorry, Ahhmm… my family… Aaaa Ok, I’m so sorry… I…Hahaha, ahm…Sorry because this was my first pageant ever and I’m only 17, I did not expect that I came from, I came from one of the top 10. Ahmm, … my family they are the most important persons in my life. Thank you."

Sigh. She's unripe for pageants. Composure, no matter how nervous she was, is the key. I hope she will learn a lot from her training. Well, she should.

And what's with Mrs. Aga who kept on buckling and eating her words? Sus.

Travel to Paris

Sunday, March 09, 2008

Someday, I'll be able to do that. Hopefully before my dusk years so I can still enjoy the trip. Let's play a game: Dreaming and Planning with Kaje :)

I guess in every trip, one must find the best accommodations. Cheap Paris Hotels may be hard to find but it's not something that cannot be accomplished with good research. I wouldn't mind if it's just a 1-star, as long as the rooms are livable. You know what I mean? I've checked out some Paris Hotels that looks promising, even looking for France Hotels for a wider selection. I'm pretty picky with hotels. Hehe.

I'll make sure we get to visit the top tourist spots. The Eiffel Tower is a must. I'd want to be able to the top and see the cityscape. I'm afraid of heights but I simply cannot miss to see the spectacular view, especially at night (yeah, I'm imagining how nice it would be!). I would also see The Louvre, Arc De Triomphe, Centre Pompidou.

Hearing mass at the Notre Dame is a additional. A big plus actually. It's gonna be my way of thanking Him for the blessings :)

Hotels in France I think are photo-worthy as well. (Again, am not too sure about that statement hehe). So maybe we can also check out Paris Latin Quarter Hotels and Nice Hotels.

By this time, our resources would have been already depleted! Haha! Got tired just thinking about all that :)

Crazy (and Pathetic) way to spend time.

Am hooked and am kinda ashamed I am spending my time refreshing my browser. Haha. Addicted just like everyone else who find this certain blog entertaining. Talk about ultimate "WiFi-ing". Mwehehehe.

Imagine, more than 30,000 visits since the day it was published about 5 days ago. And it's not just the people in Manila that go visit. Seems like the blog has taken the international scene by storm (based on the comments at least).

Reading someone bash the "high society kids" is amusing. Talk about washing the laundry in public. Watching them live their lives and finding that everything could be a lie. Sheesh.

My brothers do not condone my behavior at the moment. Not everything that's been said may not be true, as they say. So am not gonna link the blog here.

But I can whisper it to you ;p

Spilling :)

Friday, March 07, 2008

Remember that post when I said I was smiling ear to ear? That was February 26. It's time to spill, hehe.

We have reserved a bay view room at Hotel Sofitel in Manila on March 11, my actual birthday! Yuhhooo! It's gonna be an overnight stay and I had to haggle with hubby to include buffet breakfast in our accommodation. Yum yum! That would mean a king-sized bed with uber-comfy sheets and lots of photo-ops, we can practice using our Nikon!

So how did we get to this decision, you ask? I've been bugging hubby to treat me to a hotel and I do not mind at all where he's gonna take me. So he checked online for some hotel deals and he couldn't seem to find any good ones. I guess he was still torn: check me in or buy me a gift for my birthday. Didn't I say we're low on funds? He had to choose.

And then on February 26, we were informed that we are invited to K's wedding at Coconut Palace, on my birthday and on a Tuesday which is coding-day. So with this silly idea in mind, I sent Hubby the link to Sofitel which is just beside the wedding venue, and bless him for booking a room right away! Yayayay!

I'm so excited, it's just a few days away. Honeymoon for the nth time, yeah yeah yeah ;-)

This isn't a hoax.

- If you join the fun, and make a guess you’ll earn 10 points.
- The right guess/guesses will earn 30 points (if both ages are correct)
Only one right guess will earn 15 points.
- Again, leave me a comment so I can credit your points.
(Hint: the pictures you see on my three blogs are all current except the wedding pictures, which were taken when we celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary three years ago.)

The running accumulated points across the three blogs, will be posted on the side bars of the three blogs to keep you updated on your points earned.

Should there be a tie in any of the prizes at stake, a drawing will be held to determine the winner of that prize, and the person/s not drawn will win the next prize.

Prizes will be remitted to the Paypal accounts of the winners.

Easy enough, right? I hope you’ll all join the fun.

Bluewish: Fresh Talent

They're Bulacan's (Malolos) homegrown talents. They made the rounds of Bulacan bars and now they're shooting for better stars. Yapi, Mark and company used to perform for us. They actually helped Ysidro's be known in our area when we were just starting. Hands-down, they were the best group we had. They would bring in guests and they entertain very well.

During the days that I was preparing for my wedding, I showed Mark some lyrics that I came up with. He and his group composed the music for it. I was supposed to sing it to my husband on our wedding day, but alas, I chickened out. LOL! My lyrics didn't give justice to their work haha!

As I said, they've moved on. They've stopped performing at Y but I am very happy and proud that they are working hard to pursue their dreams. We don't regret welcoming them in our family. I wish that when the time comes, when they're famous and all, they will look back and still consider us family (because we still do).

They recently joined the Pringles contest and now they've landed as one of the 5 Finalists. Their entry is entitled "Balang Araw". Please do support this group by voting online at http://www.pringlesupop.com (needs registration, will take only a minute, and users can vote 30 times in a day) or by texting PRINGLES D and send to 2366. Details are also being shown over at MYX. PLEASE VOTE FOR THEM!!!!! And here's the video as posted in youtube:

Bluewish may be found at http://profiles.friendster.com/bluewishband and www.youtube.com/markylee.

Yen's QOTW 9 (1)

It's my first time to do this hehe.

1. What’s your favorite candy? Anything Mint Chocolate, love love Andes brand :)

2. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Why? I was tempted to say "anywhere but here" for personal reasons (Duh I still said it!!!!!! LOL!). Kidding aside, I'd want to live where there's a better future for my family (future kids if we'll have any!) as to where that is, I still don't know at this time.
3. What was the last movie that made you cry? The Bucket List.
4. I wish someone would invent………? An alarm clock that will refuse to be snoozed and will drag me up from bed instead LOL! (Sounds like a husband to me hehe)
5. Have you ever experienced being scared to death? Please share...Lotsa times. One was on a small plane to Caticlan. I was holding on to Hubby the entire time, too afraid we won't make it to our destination. It wasn't my first time riding a plane but that small plane really scared me.
6. What time is it now? 2:48pm
7. What’s your favorite flavor of cake? Mocha!
8. Your favorite pair of shoes? My trusty pair of Keds sneakers (used to be my Lacoste ballet flats but I gave it to my sis when we went to visit hehe)
9. Have you ever bought a lottery ticket? Yes!
10. Have you ever hung up on somebody? Yup, yup. ;)

A give-away and a new banner

Saturday, March 01, 2008

Yay, it's March! And it's my Birthday month. I'm turning 30 in a few days. Wow. Three-Zero. That's a big number. I don't usually celebrate my birthday but this year might be different. There it is...the word 'might' because we still don't know if we'll have enough budget to celebrate with a bang. But maybe we can start the party rolling here and in my other blog? Ready? :)

I am giving away 1 One-year Flickr Pro Subscription (or equivalent Paypal Money).

Mechanics: Just leave a comment (and prolly a wish for me? ;p) in this post and it would be lovely if you could also announce it in your blog/website (but not required) with a link to this blog. Double your chances by doing the same in my playground...so there's two entries max for each person. I'll keep this running from today until March 11, 11:59PM Manila Time. I will write the names of the participants and will ask someone to draw (or I'll use a randomizer) and will announce as soon as I can. Easy-peasy :)

I'll be waiting!

And lastly, notice I put up a new banner. I hope I can keep up with changing it every month, hehe. The credits are in my profile box :)

Prom/Grad Ball Season

It really is. This afternoon, hubby and I went to GH to buy my brother's Grad Ball date a wrist corsage and a bouquet of flowers. The florist was busy attending to clients buying corsages and boutonnieres! At the moment, bro is in the ball and asked our permission if he could go to Eastwood with his friends afterwards. Awww, he's all grown up (really, I should have accepted that long time ago, LOL!). He also asked permission if he could drive by himself but he wasn't allowed. You know how the Pinoy oldies are, so superstitious that those graduating (or getting married) should be extra careful because they're more prone to accidents. I dunno where that came from, hehe.

Anyway, last week, bro asked if his little pimple/blemish on the face would go away in time for the ball. Yeah, he's vain too (at times). I'm just glad he's not experiencing the same way my face broke out eons ago. I had to go and see a dermatologist for acne treatment. Nasty pimples, I tell you. Anyway (again...),

I'm hoping my brother is enjoying as this is his last hurrah before going on to college next school year. I wonder what time he plans to come home, though. Hehe.

Hubby tag

Found this tag in Rachel's who is in my feeds :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How long did you date? About four years :)
How old is he? 30
Who eats more? Him, obviously. I can't watch his diet for him, such a stubborn boy!
Who said "I love you" first? It's him.
Who is taller? He is taller by about 3inches
Who sings better? Me! He can't sing to save his life LOL!
Who is smarter? Don't ask me Math, he has to do it...otherwise hmmmmmm :)
Whose temper is worse? Let's just say I have my moments and he has his (but it's more like me heheh)
Who does the laundry? Neither of us, thankfully! The laundry woman does it :)
Who does the dishes? Usually me, but he does his share when I'm tired.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? It actually depends where we are, he sleeps near the door. So when at home, I sleep on the right side, when at QC, it's him.
Who pays the bills? Ane!
Who mows the lawn? No lawn to mow!
Who cooks dinner? We don't cook, shame :)
Who drives when you are together? He does, unless he's sleepy.
Who is more stubborn? It's got to be me.
Who kissed who first? Him.
Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Me...because I'm usually the offending party hahaha
Whose parents do you see the most? We live above his parents' but I think we see my parents more.
Who proposed? He did, a day after his 29th birthday ;)
Who is more sensitive? I am but you'll never believe how sensitive my husband can get.
Who has more friends? About equal. We move in the same crowd nowadays.
Who has more siblings? Me, I have 3 sibs. Hubby is an only child (but they lost 2)
Who wears the pants in the family? Depends actually :)
Rather late to say this...
But I love watching Coffee Prince, LOL! A few Bebots and the E Ladies are addicted to it that they've already watched the entire thing in DVD. After Marimar started to drag with its story, I realized I enjoyed watching this Koreanovela more.
(Side: Marian who plays Marimar is already announced to play Dyesebel next and she claimed to be not wearing body stockings for her scenes. Topless!)
Anyway, I already have a copy of the DVD but haven't got the chance to watch it. Hubby wants us to watch it together, hehe. So I content myself with the tagalized version on local TV and swoon :) Arthur and Andie are so cute together, but it's Arthur's (Gongyoo) killer smile that really gets me.
Suddenly, I'm in high school once again ;P
