Mom and I were discussing that show on Saturday night. It was Bb. Pilipinas '08 and I watched it with Ane over at a local channel. My favorite part of any beauty pageant, hands down, is the question-answer portion. I missed 3 of the interviews, including the one with #7 who ended up Ms. Universe, my personal favorite.
I was reading blogs this afternoon and found this transcription of the interview with #15 (we missed this too), who amazingly won Ms. World (bless our country!)...Thanks Faye for posting:
Paolo Bediones greeted and asked her : “Do you feel any pressure right now?” and she proudly replied: “No, I don’t feel any pressure right now!”
When one of the judges asked her " The question is, what role did your family play to you as candidate to Binibining Pilipinas?"
She replied: … my family’s role for me is so important because there was the…ahm Hahaha… they are Oh I’m so sorry, Ahhmm… my family… Aaaa Ok, I’m so sorry… I…Hahaha, ahm…Sorry because this was my first pageant ever and I’m only 17, I did not expect that I came from, I came from one of the top 10. Ahmm, … my family they are the most important persons in my life. Thank you."
Sigh. She's unripe for pageants. Composure, no matter how nervous she was, is the key. I hope she will learn a lot from her training. Well, she should.
And what's with Mrs. Aga who kept on buckling and eating her words? Sus.
